Boiler Brass is the official band of Purdue University Men's Basketball.  Beginning in the later part of fall semester and ending in mid-spring semester, Boiler Brass is on hand to get the crowd fired up for all home men's basketball games.  They play a vital role in creating an atmosphere that gives Purdue one of the better home-court advantages in the country.  Boiler Brass also traditionally follows the team through post-season Big Ten and NCAA tournament action.  Boiler Brass members do not receive academic credit or pay for participating but are provided free access to the games at which they perform as well as getting the opportunity to travel with the team.  Attendance to all rehearsals and performances is required as well as enrollment in an additional band ensemble (both fall and spring semesters) that does receive credit.  To gain entrance to Boiler Brass, all members must sign up through the band office for a separate audition (auditions for other bands do not count).
