HAIL FIRE

Hail Fire:

Hail Fire is a popular tune to play in the Purdue "All-American" Marching Band that is a feature song of the trumpet and mellophone sections.   The rest of the band typically has some pretty entertaining dance moves to go along with this piece.  It is usually played during third quarter of home football games and on special occasions.  It is signaled for by band members raising a clenched fist held upright while making motions with the thumb as if you were going to have a thumb-wrestling match.  Although not the greatest recording of this (and lacking the mellophone section and a conductor), go here to watch some members of the Purdue Trumpet section play Hail Fire in the Barcelo Hotel pool while at the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando.
